Q:Have you worked to a bad audience, or IS there such a thing as a
Karen: "Well, it's been said that an audience isn't bad, that the act just
doesn't fit the audience. I think that, uhm, you may NOT fit an audience,
you know? It's not that the audience HATES you or anything like that, it's
just that maybe you're not they're not cut out for what you're all about."
Q:(about the men in the hospitals from the Vietnam war) Karen, what
did you say to these kids in the hospital, what did you say to these guys
when you went to talk to them? Or what did you talk about to them?
Karen: "I don't know how,but they have the happiest outlook...I don't know
how they do it! You know...I mean, there's this kid laying there with half a
body...if at all half....I mean, it's just ridiculous, and he's saying, in
another nine years or so, they'll peice me back together and then I'll get
to sit in a bed for the rest of my life and put shoestrings together. He's
real flipped out over that. I don't know how they can have such a great
outlook,it's fantastic...I...it really flabbergasted me.Cos, I mean, we get
cut on the finger and it's "Oh,my God!!" Take me to the hospital, you
know...and we took pictures with them...it was really a gas, but it really
upset me...I was very,very, upset."
