Very thoughtful of Richard to post any memorial to his sister on their website. Obviously no money to be made in marking his sisters 25th Anniversary. Maybe someone should tell him.
Anyway Karen we all still miss you and today we wonder at what might have been.
God Bless Babe and Hope you are sleeping well.

I have just checked the official Carpenters website richardandkarencarpenter.com and if there is a 25th anniversary tribute to Karen there, it is very well hidden.
I'm sure Richard still feels the pain in his own way, but it does seem shabby not to have put something.
I also logged into this website thinking that the home page would have something there........but nothing.
I know life goes on and that it has been 25 years, but I did expect a little bit more.
God Bless you Karen x

I got what you meant, Gary.
I agree with you very much, but I guess we shouldn't totally condemn Richard. It is up to him at the end of the day how he marks the anniversary ...... or not.
Also there is nothing on the leadsister.com website either (that I can find) so it isn't just Richard Carpenter we should be upset with.

In Richard's defense, he has always tried to emphasize the 'happy' anniversaries rather than dwell on the sad one. As fans we can commemorate as we wish, but I don't think it's fair to judge Richard (or anyone else) about how they choose to grieve. Losing a loved one is a very personal pain.
As far as I know, there is a private ceremony in California to pay tribute to Karen, and it will be attended by those who were closest to her.

I agree that Richard shouldn't be condemned as however much we miss Karen, it is nothing compared to Richard and his family.
Having said that I do think that the official website home page could have been amended for today. It didn't have to be a big change with lots of words trying to sum up feelings, just a subtle change to reflect today's date. It would have meant a lot to those who visited it today, it would also have served as a reminder to those who happened to drop by but didn't realise the significance of the 4th February.

I'm late in this topic, but, i think we must not judge Richard without knowing well what he feels, and how he feels. Maybe you know, but I don't.
I'm only can say:
February 4? One day like that one not only a wonderful person stopped existing materially in the world, also stopped existing one of the most incredibly wonderful musical instruments that we could listen in our lives.
They will continue forever making and remaking guitars, pianos, violins, harps and thousands of others instruments, but Karen's voice will never be able to repeat.
That's why February 4 is, for me, as anniversary, very sad to remember.
That's why I prefer remembering on March 2, the day in which this incredible and adorable being came to the world to give us all this music and remain always in our heart...

Carl, I happen to agree with you on this one. i think we just need to not focus on the death, but, rather the life of Karen. I would rather see more topics that talk about her life, than her death. All people think about is why karen died, and, how she died, and, not that wonderful voice of hers. When the 2nd of March rolls around, I am going to flip on my Carps music, and, listen to both cds I got from start to finish, in one sitting. And, that will make me feel better. Then, I will come on ehre, and, start a topic on Karen's life, and, what it means to me. Thank you very much.
