Dear Lead Sister Participants,
You have always been such knowledgeable and helpful friends and I want to thank you for your willingness to share that Carpenters knowledge over the years. Here is a link to info on a new Karen Carpenter biography coming from Chicago Review Press July 2010:
http://www.facebook.com/littlegirlbluekcI have been working on this -- indirectly -- for 20 years and off and on from 2001 until now. There is no official site yet, so until then I will make any updates via this facebook site. I hope you enjoy!

Very IM-patiently waiting over here. This is like being handed a present and told to wait til Christmas. The anticipation is killing me!!!

We can never know about the days to come
But we think about them anyway
And I wonder if I'm really with you now
Or just chasing after some finer day.
Anticipation, anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting!http://www.lyricsfreak.com/c/carly+simon/a...n_20027226.html

Randy: Checked out the previews. The book is going to be great. It is the first time I have ever pre-ordered anything.
Hey Whsoxfan: In addition to the Salukis, I cheer for the Cardinals. Maybe we'll get a Whtie Sox-Cardinals World Series this year!
Bruce: I love that squeeze bottle. I absolutely hated that glass bottle. Anticpation nothing. It was more like frustration.

Yes, in case you don't follow the book updates on Facebook, the book has come in earlier than expected. It is not a "restricted" release (where they must hold it until the official date), so bookstore are stocking it and shipping it... mainly Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Borders and other stores (and the ever-lovin' indie stores) should have it within the next few weeks. It was very unexpected, but a welcome surprise nonetheless!

This book is great Randy! It makes one feel a range of emotions from outrage to sadness and tears. A must read for any fan for sure. I won't say much since I don't want to spoil it for others who have not started reading it yet. I would like to see this turned into a movie for sure! Thanks for telling the truth...it's about time Karen had someone tell all, may she rest in peace!

What was the marketing like for this book in the States ? Is it being pushed to the limit, or will only those that follow Karen's story in general know about it ?

To all those who are reading "Little Girl Blue" here's some sections regarding Burris,
pages 216-19, 221-23, 225-27, 230-34, 238-39, 242-44, 273, 286, and 298.
IMO this information describes a gold digging phony. Your opinions?

Yes - Amazon is stocking the book now, but no as far as marketing.....at least I haven't seen any promotions. I know Randy does have some book signing engagements across the US, but none for Chicago that I know of.

Yesterday.... haven't gotten that far in the book yet..... I'm still in 1967! Haven't gotten to the big parts yet.....maybe after more of us read the book we should have a discussion topic...... that would be cool.

I had it on order from amazon.co.uk, but they will not have it until November. I think it is only amazon.com that stocks it at the moment.
It's a shame you have not seen any promotional stuff, I'm hoping that the book reaches beyond the general fan-base.

I wonder how Richard deals with stuff like this ? Does he read it himself, get someone else to read it for him, or just behave like nothing is happening ?
