I didn't want to have to post all this, but it has come to a point that I need to... which is quite aggrevating and sad.
I want this out in the open. I have posted this before.... but it needs repeating it looks like.
ADVERTISING: I really don't mind anyone sharing their websites. It's great to offer new sites regarding the Carpenters. BUT... Please do not come here only to post an advertisement of your forum to spam for members. It's rude. I wouldn't do that on anyone elses forum... and so I would like the same respect shown to this forum and all other forums. So basically... it would be a good idea to be a regular member before posting links to your forum. Also... there is the option of filling out your member's profile and adding your site there.
CENCORSHIP: There has been a lot of talk and comments regarding "cencorship" here at LeadSister Forums. When each member signs up here, they are asked to read all the stickies around the forum. Or at least should know to read them. It states very clearly in the forum that certain topics are directed to the Heated Discussions section of the forum. So when you join, there are no questions as to what gets deleted, closed etc. It gives members a chance to decide whether to join and participate in this forum. So making the decision to participate and then complain about said topics being closed/deleted is mute. Wouldn't you say? It's quite simple really, you don't like the way this forum is ran, join another forum.
I don't believe it's cencorship to delete/close topics that are directed at other members or simply to start an arguement here. I don't have time or the ambition to babysit bickering between members.
PM's: This stands for PERSONAL messages... not PRIVATE messages. As the admin/owner of this forum, I am able to read any PM's. BUT.... I do NOT do this unless there is concern regarding the PM's. I think I have had to resort to this only twice in the whole time of running this forum. I really don't have time in my life to "spy" on members PM's. I think I'm alittle more mature than that.
CHATROOM: I receive chat transcripts on a daily basis. Each day, I quickly scan them to make sure the chatroom is not being abused. I do not have time in my days to babysit each and every chat or read all the transcripts. But I do make sure the chatroom is not being used in questionable ways. If you do not like this... then don't go into the chatroom and/or do not use it to share personal information! It is for members to talk about the Carpenters or to chat in general as friends. I will NOT have people joining to just bad mouth other members. And you know who you are.
Now, one thing that I am upset about is that the chatroom is being used to rally up supporters to take sides in an ongoing quest to cause trouble in the forums between members. It's also used to badmouth other members. I will start to ban members who continue this practice.
Also, I am not a babysitter or the Mom of this forum. I will not be put in a position anymore of having to choose sides. If you have a problem with a member.... then by all means PM or email me. But don't contact me in an effort to take sides. I have made friends of alot of people in this forum and do not have a problem right now with anyone. I'd like to keep it that way.
I'm trying REALLY hard to not be harsh or rude here, but it's hard not to be. I don't take kindly to being talked about behind my back then 'smiles to my face'. Two-faced people will be banned. Life is too short to keep people like that in it.
Bottom line... if anyone is not happy with the way this forum is ran or can't get along with members... can find another forum. I WILL keep this a friendly forum to talk about the Carpenters. I will NOT have members bashed everytime they post.
I spend $200 a month for my server now and $100 a year for my chatroom! I will not keep dishing out money just to have to babysit people who cant get along! If anyone has a problem with this... feel free to contact me. But I will start to use the ban feature if needed.
