Happy Birthday Karen! A person and life that accomplished so much in just a few years. Yet a life tragically cut short in the prime of her life. Karen Carpenter was, and is, a unique personage, whose music and life will always be treasured, and never forgotten. So many of the songs Karen sang about others could equally be applied to Karen herself. I think an appropriate line from the song that made the Carpenters famous, very well sums up KC's fans' feelings towards Karen: "Just like me, they long to be, close to you."
