Just wanted to post a short intro before going to bed. It's close to 2 AM!!! I usually am in bed a lot earlier; I got a son to get ready for school, after all!
Anyway, my name is Michelle. On the internet I'm known as either Panda Cookie or DJ Panda, and I'm 33 years old. I am a disc jockey on the internet radio station Errorfm.com, and I have been since (I think!) June of 2007. I've actually been doing internet radio since 2005, but I never could get my own station off the ground, so I got hired at an existing one. I have a son that will be 16 this month. It seems like he was born yesterday!!! Oh, and I have the BEST boyfriend on the planet. His name is Wade and he is an artist that is studying to be an art teacher.
Things I love: exercising, buying clothes and other stuff on eBay, internet radio (of course!), the musical Rent, Valley of the Dolls (both book and movie), reading, karaoke, hanging out with friends, pro wrestling, the punk rock scene, and I LOVE music of all kinds. My favorite artists include Motley Crue, Courtney Love, Blondie and Cheap Trick...and the Carpenters, but goes without saying!
All of my life I have been surrounded by the Carpenters' music. When I was a baby, my father used to sing "Close To You" to me all the time. I always thought they made beautiful music, but I also had the idea that they were one of those corny bands my parents liked. I was wrong about them being corny. Recently I rediscovered their music and have been blown away. I also got the chance to finally read about Karen's life, and the more I find out about her, the more I love her.
So that's pretty much it for now. I'm getting pretty tired. If any of you are on Myspace, feel free to add me: http://myspace.com/pandacookie. Have a good night, all!

I sure have! Four of them, to be exact! Once in 1987, Once in 1989/90, and twice in 2005.
Have you ever been to the Motley Crue forums? It's awesome there. I've been a member for three years this March. Here's the url if you need it: http://www.motley.com/bbs
Oh and to everyone else: Thanks for the warm welcome! It's most appreciated! I already love it here.

I know, right??? Last night, for example, I went on Youtube and did a search on Karen playing the drums, and MAN, was I blown away by what I found!!! Every day I find new reasons to admire Karen.
It's funny, but I re-discovered the Carpenters at an interesting time of my life: I was starting to get crazy about dieting and on controlling my hunger pangs. This was because someone that used to be a friend texted me with a message: "hey fattie!" And I'm not even obese! I look pretty healthy, actually. I used to be obese; I was once around 300 lbs, but I lost around 100 lbs, and this ex friend knows that I have a fear of gaining the weight back. And since I had just ended the friendship, he was trying to hurt me. But it made me question all the progress I made. I started thinking of it as not enough. I actually looked into diet pills like Alli, just so I could eat less! But then I read about how the Carpenters house might be torn down over in Ohnotheydidn't, and it re-sparked my interest in the Carpenters. It's kind of like Karen was stepping in from the afterlife and saying, "Hold it!!! STOP!!! Don't do this to yourself. It sucks. Please learn from what I went through!!!" I know, it's pretty crazy, but the music and Karen's story helped me to not get into something that could seriously hurt me later. Thanks, Karen!
Oh, and just for the record, a pic of me...not a fattie.

Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it. And no problem on the Crue link. They have an official forum that a lot of people don't know about. Of course I'd want to spread the word.
