Hi, My name is Robin-
I'm from New Jersey. I've been married for 26 years and have three daughters ages 25, 20 and 17 (They also are fans of the Carpenters-which they say is because of me).
I've been a fan of the Carpenters from the very beginning. I was 10 in 1970 when I first heard Close To You. I immediately fell in love with Karen's voice.
I been a member since July 2007, but have never introduced myself or posted before. The main reason for this is that I've never done this before. I'm 48 but don't know much about using a computer aside from the basic stuff. I decided for the new year that I was going to try posting in the forum (somehow I'll figure this out). I must say that I have enjoyed reading the forums (mostly general chat) the past six months. There have been many times your post have made me laugh, I find the members to be very entertaining, not to mention very knowledgable about everything Carpenters.

Hallo Robin! I am Lesley from Taiwan, a long time fan too, starting very early in my life. 
I am a Carpenters fan because of my parents too (my dad). He has this very prettiful CD of them except that he only used it to test his stereo speakers, lol.

Hi Robin, I'm Dave from SC and I also remember the summer of 1970 when the Carpenters first hit the AM airwaves. There certainly was a lot of good music then and something for everyone. Welcome to the LS forums and we're glad you're finally able to post. And computers, well... 
... they're computers with all the vagaries of and unpredictability one can imagine. But you'll do alright with patience and perseverance... as we all do.

Hi, Robin!!!
Glad you decided to introduce yourself. I used to be computer illiterate, too.
I found LS while in a library and tried learning how to post and do basic things. I'm now 49 and much better, but if you need help....ask one of us...we can probably help you out. 
I was also a Carpenters fan from the time they started. After Karen died, I really didn't want to listen much or hear anything about Karen, because it just hurt too much. But one day I did a search on the internet and found this site...been here ever since. 
That was 2003. There's lots of new things to learn around here and plenty of people to talk with. Hope we hear more from you. It's not all that hard. Cheryl in South Carolina
