Hi everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself here in the forum. My name's Eric, curretly living in Carpinteria, CA. What a name, huh! It's real, I'm not making it up. A cozy little oceanside city just south of Santa Barbara (SB).

Actually, I had made a posting on the General Chat forum. It's the one about Karen's mausoleum pictures. I deeply apologize for not having introduced myself earlier and just barging into the forum posting a new topic . I'd promised myself to post an introduction here, but have been quite busy in the last few weeks as I just moved here from SB last month. So, again, my apology for the late intro.

As to how I was introduced to Carpenters, I was still a sophomore at UCSB 10 years ago when one day my housemate was listening to one of his oldies CD collections. Just so happened that "Yesterday Once More" was playing in his room, and my room was right next to his. (He's not much of a Carpenters fan, though.) Right away I was hooked to the airy melody and Karen's voice; a female voice like I'd never experienced before then . And just like that, I've been a Carpenters addict ever since!

To make my addiction even worse, not long after the event above, I was watching VH1 on new year's day in 1998 when it was showing Behind The Music marathon for the whole day. And lo and behold, one of them was about the Carpenters! As it was a marathon, Carpenters' Behind The Music got to be broadcasted about 3 or 4 times in one day, and I didn't miss any of it! LOL!

I've always been trying to expand my Carpenters collection over the years, and luckily for me, one of my cousins just recently moved to Tokyo because of a job transfer from LA (he works for Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi). So, hopefully if he's already settled down nicely over there, maybe I can have him look for many of the Japan-only Carpenters stuff . One of my "Carpenters-related goals" is to own the Japanese Single Box (the one with 33 individual CD Single discs) and either the Japanese 35th Anniversary Collector's Edition 13-Box Set or the UK-release 12-Box set.

All righty, that's a bit of my intro for now. Hopefully I'll always be able to enrich my knowledge with all things Carpenters here in the forum with the help of all you Carpenters gurus.

By the way, how do I change the word/sentence that is below the avatar? It currently says "Solitaire" under mine. I see others change theirs, like how it says "NOKS Patient At Local Hospital" under Marty's and "Superstar" under Cathy's. For some reason, I wasn't able to find out how even after I'd explored My Controls section thoroughly.
