A Weird Thread!
Is a love song

I thought I'd share this with you guys.
When I listen to the song "It's going to take some time"...since I think I am out of shape. I think of the lyrics talking about getting back into shape, and how you'll get into shape the "right" and healthy way and how it's going to take time this time.
It means a lot to me since I've been Anorexic.
There is so much meaning to the song when you think of it in this way. Every time I hear it I only think of it in this regard.
Just listen to the song, and you'll know what I mean.
It's gonna take some time this time
To get myself in shape
I really fell out of line this time
I really missed the gate
The birds on the telephone line (next time)
Are cryin' out to me (next time)
And I won't be so blind next time
And I'll find some harmony
You get it? Or am I alone on this one?
Do you think this is a weird thread?

I see what you mean. I do understand that its like a messege from Karen, yet a few years to early...

Just wanted to add, this song helped me in my recovery from anorexia. It was recorded long before Karen's struggle, but it really touched home and helped me, many years later. Absolutely gorgeous.

This song really means alot to me. I can't say that it made an impact on me lifewise, but it has made an impact on me musically. It's my favorite song by the Carpenters aswell.

YAY! I am not so weird after all!
I never thought of this song like this until now, now when I am "over weight". It has such a strong message. It almost creepy that it's a message from Karen before all this happened to herself. Very creepy.
Her message lives on through the years. I hope others discover this hidden meaning...before it's too late.
It's true though, these things do take time, and there's so much more...we could sit and tell each other what each line means, but I think you all know what it means. It's also very personal...each journey is very different. So, interpret it how you like. That's just my interpretation.
