Your Navy Presents

"Your Navy Presents" was a scripted interview that KC and RC appeared on in 1970. I've heard bits and pieces of it and it's pretty funny. I like when Karen talks about logging her drums and electric bass over the rockies! (
) From what I've heard some of the things are false. Karen did not start playing the drums, until she was already moved and in California. The interviewer, Sam Riddle, also calls the group that they were in previously "The Spectrums". We all know that they were called just simply "Spectrum". Anyways, I'm getting the whole thing soon. Has anyone ever heard the whole thing? If not then you may be in luck.
I'm also getting the interview that they did from 1970 with Dick Biondi. He is known in the Chicago area, especially. He's a legendary radio disc jockey. I used to listen to him alot. They discuss politics, religion, Communism, the assassination of President Kennedy, and more. KC and RC like you never heard them! I can't wait to get that.

The interview and performance are on the "From the Top" set.
Yeah, they are, but not the whole thing. It's too bad that more from the interview wasn't added on there. It would've saved me a bit of trouble!
I do highly recommend the "From The Top" box set, though!

I heard the whole thing. An excerpt about the electric bass and the Hollywood Bowl is also on the Essential Collection.
Part of the interview in another part of the show I think is cute where Karen says "I won't even TRY to say "contemporarily oriented!" HEY, I said it!!!"
in a tone like she's about to laugh. I know it was scripted but the delivery was cute!

I love that interview! I love to drive around and listen to it in the car... such a time capsule, and pretty funny, actually. Richard was so... passionate.. about things! It's really a cool thing to have for posterity.

Its in The Essential Collection 1965-1997 too, that one is still pretty easy to come by, it has an outtake track from when they were with the person who was the DJ in between songs on the now and then album, and a few commercial jingles that they did and such, it has the garage recordings too, its great

I'm getting mine from a dealer, Cathy. I'm not sure if he has any more. If I spot on any, you will be the first that will know.
