who else feels this way because I dont care what " reality " says, every Christmas Karen lives again, Christmas becomes an alternate reality where Carpenters are popular again and are played frequently, and Karen is with us in spirit and in song , and you are able to forget the sad, harsh reality for those few days, she is with us again, and we hear her all over, and it is the best feeling in the world, does anybody else get what I am saying, I just felt like posting how I feel lol, because Christmas is just around the corner and the christmas albums are almost like getting to hear something new every year

no, you're not!
i adore Christmas time in general. but it certainly makes it even more special to hear Karen on the radio all the time. It's so nice to not have to put on my CDs - and just turn on most stations, and there she is! She is one of THE Christmas voices. I'm looking forward to it again!

What drew me to their music was about 4-5 years ago. The family was going through a rough time, so we were looking forward to a poor Christmas. I remember having an oldies station on that I listened to in Chicago and they played "Merry Christmas, Darling", and I was mesmerized by this voice. I'd swear that there was an angel in my room singing because it felt so real. Every time that I listen to that song, the same feeling comes over me, but there was something about that night that made it so special. I'll never forget how I felt and how beautiful of a moment that was. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about how beautiful a moment it was!
Thank you Karen and Richard for making such beautiful music! No one is even close to your level of greatness!

My favorite moment while listening to the songs is when, after the overture on Christmas Portrait, Karen's voice singing, "Frost-ed window panes! Candles gleaming inside..." When you hear that, you know that Christmas has finally come...

Nothing tops the Carpenters Christmas work. Thank God it's still played on radios at Christmas time. Timeless indeed.

Ooooh, I TOTALLY agree!! I can't even DESCRIBE the feeling that washes over me every year when that part comes up for the "first" time all over again...
And what I ESPECIALLY love about Karen's voice at Christmas is that I get to listen to it in the presence of my loved ones... and maybe it's me, but I just think there's something so special about getting to share Karen's magic with other people, and even introduce her to some others who have never had the pleasure.

It's really sad that the only Carpenters' songs they play on the radio are the Christmas ones. They should have a station dedicated to only them!

I'm just SO happy that they recorded an album of Christmas songs. The 'powers that be' thought it might not sell because Christmas albums were a thing of the past. I can't imagine a Christmas without Karen and Richard.

Christmas songs are more true than any other songs. They'll always live the test of time.
