Does anybody have any audio of Karen laughing? That would make my day! I swear I never heard her laugh! It's quite saddening actually!

i think the only time i've seen/heard her laugh is in the hotel dumpwater interview

Karen had a very funny laugh when she was really cracked up about something... You can hear it a lot in the 1971 Dick Biondi and Friends radio interview, and in the 1977 Tonight Show interview (Tommy Smothers comes on after the Carpenters interview is over -- Karen thought he was hilarious, and you can hear her laughing at things he says. I wish I knew how to upload these for you... anyone?

I like when Karen would laugh. It wasn't really ever what I'd call a belly laugh but eerily, she laughed the same way I do. Its hard to explain her laugh, but its cute.

She would also make "laughing sounds"... not REALLY a laugh, but a goony noise in response to something funny. Me and "duckbilledplatypus" once compiled an audio of "Karen sounds" she would make, but it does make her sound kinda loony.

Karen seemed to be really precise about her public appearances, and so YES I do agree that she was reserved about her laughter in public. But we all know and have seen her sense of humour, so there's no doubt she really was able to have a fantastic social life, with TONS of laughter included. I mean, all of her friends seemed to admire Karen's sense of humour. It kind of comes out particularly in the '76 TV special.

I really want to hear her laugh! I feel deprived of Karen! I need MORE! I am suffering bad from my NOKS today! All I've heard is her speaking voice I NEED more! PLEASE!!! NEDNICKERSON where are you when I need you?

It also came out a lot in the 1978 Bruce Forsythe Christmas show, which was hilarious!! Bruce even scolded her for "answering back!" I have this on VHS... wish I knew a way to share it with everyone! Anyone have this on DVD? It's great for seeing Karen really joking around and laughing.

And there were so many more appearances... She was fantastic.

On the TV special when Richard makes the mistake and says "with musical influences tonight, like John AND Denver", Karen had a genuine laugh moment. Its likely on You Tube, that part, near the beginning of the 1976 TV special.

And Victor and Borge.

What doesn't that dink, Richard Carpenter, put this stuff on freaking DVD so we can all watch this stuff and enjoy it in high quality and not on crappy old YouTube!!! Why does he have to be such a dink! Frig!
