Songs On "voice Of The Heart"

I was just listening to the whole album and although it's very sad to listen to in some ways, it's also a wonderful showcase for Karen's voice.
"Ordinary Fool" is so sexy and smooth.
I love the hum she does at the end, too. The songs all have kind of a different sound, though, because of the way Richard had to finish it.
I love "Sailing On The Tide"...nice, fun songs. Karen's voice fits it perfectly!!!! Although...I find Your Baby Doesn'y Love You Anymore a "high" song for Karen, so Richard shouldn't have complained about her solo album!!!!

Totally agree with you once again, Cheryl (although I do like the song, especially the verses). I had the same issue with a lot of the selections on MIA.

No problem! You deserve compliments, you guys!
Maybe I should change my name to "PicklesDad"!
Pickles is my 14 year old female dog. I grew up with her. She's two years younger than me...but I think you already know that. I bother her alot thought...I am not really a good dad/brother.friend to her...maybe I'll just keep my name the way it is!
No, but it's true! You guys are the BEST!

Yeah...thanks, Andrew!!!!!

But I almost feel like there's messages in there from Karen. Like in "You're Baby Doesn't Love You Anymore"..(make a vow every morning that you'll change your point of view) and in "Look To Your Dreams" I think it's one of the most special gifts she left behind to us. Personally...I don't know how Richard got thru this album. Her voice is so damn great....even sick as she was.

I know, Cheryl... (I'm starting to think you and I were separated at birth... we agree on TOO much!). I have actually burned LTYD to disc and given it as a gift with graduation cards, cheer-up cards to friends, etc. I love the messege, and the way RC did the piano fade-out after Karen's vocal... Oy. It's almost too much for me, on an emotional level. Just beautiful.
If I were Richard, I would have been heading straight for the Quaaludes again after losing Karen. It really is VERY commendable that he was able to process his way through that awful time without returning to his addiction. Getting married so soon after was apparently a very healthy thing for him to do. It may have actually saved HIS life.

It's so amazing to think Karen's voice remained so pure and strong.
She certainly was sick at this time when she recorded the music, but unless you had seen her then, you'd never know it. Still...it's a sad album because it's the first one after she died and poor Richard's picture on the back always makes me want to cry!!!
