Can't Help Singin' Along With...

As I sit and work and play Carpenters songs, I find myself unable to NOT sing along to:
Upbeat songs:
Sweet, Sweet Smile
Man Smart, Woman Smarter
Won't Last A Day Without You
Jambalaya
Slower songs:
Two Sides
A Song For You
This Masquerade
Calling Occupants
Amazing how I can't seem to help myself.....these songs are so compelling
I think part of the appeal of Carpenters music is that people CAN sing along easily.

I sing along with almost all of their songs. In the songs Richard sings lead, I sing Karen's harmony. I love singing. Their songs are pretty easy to sing along with.

I sometimes sing Richard's parts and the background vocals. I don't sing during Karen, though. That's walking on her.
I admit I do sing along with Karen sometimes. I'd much rather just hear her sing, though. Most of the time I just like to listen!

Yes!!!
Meanwhile, I am a guy so find it very easy to sing along with Karen's voice because of her low register...but I thought it would be harder for girls to sing along because of her low voice

Not to sound like I'm bragging, but I can actually sing along with her low voice well. My range is about the same as Karen's.

I love doing Richards "Down" from the "down on creation" part of TOTW.

I always sing along to the Carpenters cause Karen is my range and its easiest for me to sing along to. I am so not a soprano.
Yeah, I'm a girl, but I don't have a problem singing songs that Karen is singing. I have more trouble trying to sing along with Michael Jackson and he's a guy and sings too high for me in his songs.
I don't have a "high" voice for a girl and am an alto.
Oh, and I will sing to every song of the Carpenters too. Not one, I can't sing along with.

Are you kidding me? I song along with ALL Carpenters songs - it is truly compulsive. I usually find myself singing harmony, though - maybe because then I am singing "with" Karen, and not over her.
I have a bigger issue, though... Air drumming. In the car, the top of the wheel is the hi-hat, the bottom of the wheel is the snare, the GAS PEDAL is the kick drum (look out!!!), and the brake is the hi-hat pedal. The crash and ride are usually my air freshener hanging from the mirror (but sometimes it's also the person in the passenger seat).
Now that I've confessed, I hope you will all pray for me whenever I am behind the wheel.
