Hi everybody. I just started listening to carpenters tunes on 7/7/07. That's when i bought Carpenters Gold. I don't know why i got it, but i think it's probably because i was seeing some stuff on youtube and really enjoyed it.
Right now, im working on my Masters Degree in sociolgy in colorado. Class starts tomorow, so i'm excited.I'm 27, single, and plan on getting the Ph D. after i'm done here ( should be in about ten months time).
I think Richard is very talented and doesn't get the recognition he deserves. And as for karen, well i think she's the best female singer ever recorded in popular music.
Well, don't know what else to tell ya guys. If anyone wants to know anything else, just ask.
Cheers!

What a smart and perceptive man you are!
Sociology rocks my socks. Greenie, what's your um, concentration? My program is mainly aging and healthcare related *yawn*, but I want to get into Social Psychology.

My thesis is going to be on the sociology of religion. I really don't have much of a major emphasis. I am pretty interested in weber's rationalization theory. I am pretty interested in how people are multifaceted. That is, we do have a rational side and interact with instituitions in that manner-- also shaping that institution, but we also have what i call a " magical " tendency in life, which i think is just as valid. Because of that, i don't believe religion is going to vanish, or be replaced by science, but that science is going to be used to reinforce faiths and such.
Have you ever read erving goffman's Presentation of self in everyday life? I think you'd love that.
I really got big into symbolic interactionist type of thinking after reading he and mead. It also fits in with other inerests like joe campbell and carl jung.
This year is really an exciting one, as i'm from colorado. I am pretty sure the ASA meeting is going to be in Denver heh.
Annie, what made you choose sociology?
