Richard says that there is nothing left to be released, but what about several songs from TV specials ( and there are several work leads that have been rumored ) several Christmas songs, why coulden't he make a bonus disc to come with Christmas collection, and several from the other three TV specials, and Make Your Own Kind Of Music, a Medley Good Day Sunshine, New World Coming..... and I am pretty sure that there were more, so why won't they ever release those, it would be nice, I wonder how many songs are left that Richard completely overlooked

I agree 100%, Aaron. I feel, especially, their early unreleased stuff has been ignored. I'd love to see these great, beautiful songs get released, so I could blast them out my window already!

I wish we could have more Carpenters songs someday

Maybe Richard wants to keep somethings to himself as a memory of Karen. He's not ready to give up these items yet because maybe they are/ have become personal to him.

According to Richard's interview with Yuko Ogura concerning their unreleased songs, he and Karen recorded Paul Stookey's (of Peter, Paul, and Mary) song "Sebastian" and were going to release it as a follow-up to Superstar. If I remember the story correctly, they were talked out of it by studio executives.

I've heard Paul Stookey's version, and I think it was a wise decision not to release the song. The lyrics are sort of creepy in a way... Is Sebastian a college student? A mental patient? A child at his first day of school? .... what?

Another song they recorded is the old George Hamilton IV song, Why Don't They Understand, which was also recorded by Patty Duke. I've heard both versions, and it's a nice enough song for Karen, I think. Richard says after they finished it and he listened to it, he decided that George Hamilton's song was still the better version and he decided not to release it.
