Cd Help

Marty's Photo Marty 17 Aug 2007

I want to fulfill my collection of Carpenters' albums and I can't find any new CD'S of these two. I found "Ticket To Ride" brand new for $25 and that was a total pain to find. Can anyone recommend a website that would offer these? I'm looking to get the "Remastered Classics" series released by A&M.

Thanks!

They don't have either. It's only in LP format. sad.gif

Yeah, the used ones are like $40 to $70. No way I'm paying that for a used CD! I think I just found a brand new "Passage" for $18. I'm really looking for a "A Kind Of Hush" because I want that one bad! The prices on that are similar to other "Passage" offers. None offered new on Amazon anymore since they are both out of print. sad.gif

Good job on finding Passage for only $18 thumbup.gif:

It may take a while to find the out-of-production stuff, but eventually somewhere it will turn up. goodluck.gif

Wow! Prices sure have gone up since I got their CD's! I think I did find a couple of the Carpenter's CD's at a Border's store in downtown Chicago. You might try a Border's website.

Best thing to do is to search the web often until you find a deal your comfortable with. Ebay and Amazon are the two best places, but there are other lesser known stores as well that you'll come across when you use a search engine. And continue checking on a regular basis, deals change daily. You might find a great deal on one of the OOP CD's today, and then tomorrow the prices are sky high.

Um, I still don't know why the Carpenters album catalogue is out of print on CD in the first place??

Thanks for the advice! That sounds like a plan. smile.gif

There are CDs and LPs of both albums on ebay in the UK right now! The AKOH CD one has 4 days to run, the Passage ones only a day or so, but there are more of them.

I think they are all used, but seem to be in good condition. The prices are very good (Carpenters CDs in the UK do not seem to attract many bids - what's wrong with people?!

If you want me to bid on them for you, let me know...

By the way, there's a Passage mug on ebay too at the moment! I think 29 dollars so far...

UK ebay is always worth looking at - the Coleman book is often up for auction and goes for the equivalent of between 8 and 20 dollars.

Thank you!!! I found "Passage", but I can't find "A Kind Of Hush". Can you give me a link? I think I'll wait to bid because I want to keep the price low. I'm definitely going for both, though.

Thanks again, Carrie!

I don't think I'll be able to buy those CD's until next month because somebody outbidded me on Ebay and I have to pay twice what the price was. sad.gif

Too bad I didn't buy all of these CD's when they were new. Would've saved ALOT of money. sad.gif cry.gif
