"richard, I Realize I'm Sick..."

The cover of People back in 1983 showed a picture of Karen in the infamous yellow outfit during the Japanese telethon, and featured this quote of Karen's beside it: "Richard," she said, "I realize I'm sick and I need help."
I am wondering if anyone has ever seen any other account of this conversation between them. I don't remember reading about it in the Coleman book, and in interviews, RC always seems to talk about her denial and her anger at him that night in the parking lot at the dept. store, but never about this very crucial exchange wherein Karen finally became broken before her brother and admitted her need for care. I find this very odd, and a little disturbing. If they really had this conversation, then I feel Karen needs to be given credit for that, instead of always being referred to as difficult and stubborn in the area of her treatment.

Well she said that, before she left in late 1981, early 1982 before she left for treatment. And the incident where she erupts in anger was done a few weeks before she died...and I can see why she would be angry at him. Here she was a year later, after she had started treatment and was now finished and now here he was going behind her back telling people she didn't look well. I mean she put on 31 pounds!! That doesn't say anything!?! So I can see why she was upset...and then they always use that infamous photo of Karen with her parents by the door of their Newville Home to illustrate how sick she was. Well that picture was from Spring of 1982 or sometime in 1979-1980 judging from her hairstyle and outfit. When in fact, she looked a lot better and had some weight on. I understand that she maybe could have been a bit heavier...mayb 112 or 115. But at least 108 was a lot more healthier than the 77 pounds that she was.
