Thanks everyone for the welcome! I am from Hammond, Indiana which is about 30 minutes from Chicago, Illinois. It's very nice to speak with other fans of the Carpenters because it seems like today we seem to be a dieing breed. Well, atleast around here we are. The first time I heard the Carpenters I must've been around six. I was watching my cartoons, and everyday I remember seeing this Carpenters greatest hits advertisement come on during the commercial. Back then all I listened to was Elvis Presley, so I didn't have that big of a musical knowledge other than Elvis, Journey and Motown. I just remember hearing the most beautiful voice in the world for the first time and I've been hooked ever since. I wonder if any other kids watching that cartoon channel were mesmerized by the Carpenters aswell?! I'm glad to be here and am glad to find other people that admire the Carpenters as much as I do! Thanks again!

Haha, I am glad to see other younger fans aswell! I think it's good to have nutty fans like us! It keeps the excitement and wonder doing. haha

I've been strolling through the forum and I really like it here. I like that I can talk about the Carpenters with people who know as much or more so than I do!
