People have been asking for it.... so we are now providing it!

A petition is in the works to WAKE UP the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and get The Carpenters inducted!!

The Carpenters were a HUGE musical influence in the 70's and still survive to this day with new fans. They deserve to be in the RRHOF for their contribution to music!

So stay tuned for the petition! I will be designing T-shirts so you can show your support!

I would love to see them inducted. And I'm going to go to the ceremony if it happens, even if it kills me!

However, I filmed this off of my TV for you. It's Paul Grein (music commentator and huge Carpenters fan) explaining why The Carpenters will "never" be inducted.

I hope you can hear him OK. This was filmed at the 30th anniversary celebration, July 10, 1999 at CPAC.

I've heard Paul Grein's speech of why they won't be inducted. But I've also heard other musicians say they would never make it and they don't care whether or not they do (same with fans) but when it does happen, they are all over it. There have been so many inducted lately that make NO sense why they were. The Carpenters deserve it. They made a definate mark in music and should be credited for it. Not constantly over looked like A&M seems to do. Like The Carpenters not being mentioned in A&M's list of accomplishments! That was just wrong.

So, once I'm able to get this up and running, spreading the word to local radio stations, newspapers etc would be a great way to contribute to the cause. If anyone has idea's on spreading the word, I'm all ears.

I have so many projects running right now but hopefully I can get this up and running over the next month. Feel free to pass the link around and bookmark for updates!

I wonder if you could contact other administrators of like-minded music forums and request that they post the link? There's a lot of people who post on other music-based forums but love the Carpenters too.

I hope you're right, Pam, about Paul Grein being wrong. He's a big fan but also quite knowledgeable of the ins-and-outs of the music scene.

Actually, the Sex Pistols did make it in. The same year as Black Sabbath, Blondie, Miles Davis, Lynyrd Skynyrd and industry executives Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, 2006. They ended up not showing up and Sex Pistols spit on Hall of Fame honor.

Oh, OK. I couldn't believe the Sex Pistols were left out.
