Has anybody seen the new commercial for Hertz Rental Car, it has Close To You as the theme, it is really neat.

Thanks for your information. I'd like to know who sings it. Karen, another singer or instrumentall?
They must not use "Road Ode" for CM.

I found on the web that the movie "Closer" has "Close To You", too. Karen, an actress who appears in the movie, may sing "Close To You".
They say that the songs on soundtrack are sung by English and 2 Chineses. So is it from China (or Hong Kong)?

Ray.. yeah, I've seen that commmercial quite a few times around here. I think it's amazing after all these years that the Carpenters music is still used for various things. I just wish they would get more recognition for their work.

I haven't seen the commercial yet? Is it Karen singing? Is Richard finally giving permission for the Carp music to be used for commercials and movies and stuff? I thought that was the reason their music hasn't been used. At least that was my understanding.

I haven't seen the commercial either! I guess I need to watch more tv! I guess the hertz owner loves the carpenters!

It's an instrumental. It's hard to explain.... but it's not a big piece of the song...just a repeat of a phrase where you recognize what it is. Not played by Richard. Maybe Ray can explain better.
