And When I Die -a great song lyrically and musically was recorded by Karen and Richard in May 1969 for CSULB CHOIR Album(Written by the late Laura Nyro).
This American Classic was a huge hit in 1969 for Blood Sweat and Tears both as a Single (#2) and Platinum Album (#1) and has been recorded by many Artists and Groups.
I understand the other Vocalist featured is Wendy Freeman , also at CSULB with Carpenters. This track has an R&B / Blues feel to the recording with a great finale.Some fans do not like the song as being very Atypical Carpenters sound and Freeman's voice sharing the lead vocals.....however I love this track and hope Richard remixes / digitally remasters this track for a future Box Set or Rarities Set release .......
Some Fans attach significance to the lyric "And When I Die , Just Let Me Go Naturally ......" sung movingly as ever by Karen .........
Goodnight was originally featured on the CSULB Album and later cleaned up for release on From The Top (1991) and a third track with Carpenters is an early version of the stunning Crescent Noon with the Choir backing Karen .....this should also be released for a future set.......
Something's Missing is the song that Richard loves from the Karen Solo sessions and has suggested that he would like to complete the Arrangement , Orchestration and Production for future release.....interesting to see whether Richard does work on this outtake , which indicates Richard was not totally dismissive of Karen / Ramone Solo Project songs.......
Someday these tracks will be released....keep on hoping sooner......

i agree as well , i was listening to when i die , recently and though my copy is poor quality the song was excellent, and somethings missing , A+++,

Yeah sorry, I think they chopped off the rest cause it wasn't Karen singing anymore lol. Is the quality of that better or the same as yours lee?
