Yeah...that is quite tacky. Like it says, it's from the cover of a magazine. The magazine usually pops up on Ebay from time to time. I think I have the cover imagine somewhere.

Oh, Renata, I'm sorry
Unfortunately, there will always be stuff like that out there - just stay away from it so you don't get hurt - they're just dumb
I know it's nasty, though.

I don't think STUPID is the proper word for it (that's too kind). REPULSIVE, MORONIC, TASTELESS, INANE, SHAMELESS....and really, really LOW CLASS.
I wish I had actually not even looked at that

Yeah, that's bizarre and hateful indeed. I don't see the point in being hateful like that towards someone with an illness. It is right up there with making fun of the metally ill, or other forms of bigotry & such.

Websites like this one is proof that Karen's beautiful memory lives on through people like us.
Although there is a morbid fascination for the deaths of celebrities, i.e. Elvis, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, etc; there is also a positive fascination at the lives these people lived and their immortality. That is what we need to embrace, and you people in this website, do embrace Karen's music and life.
Karen's death was unheralded up to that point. A wholesome person dying of complications from anorexia nervosa, a disease no one knew anything about. If not for this unfortunate death, there would be many other deaths from this disease. The awareness that ensued from Karen's death has begun a healing process for the images that girls have for their bodies. There is a name for it now. Marie Osmond also suffered from anorexia and bulimia.
Have you seen Michele Greene lately? She was an actress in LA Law. I bought one of her CDs (she is also a singer and guitar player). She appears emaciated. Hopefully, she gets some help.
Renata, some people just cannot handle death. Instead of feeing the empathy that we do, they express it in an way that diverts the attention from the sadness of it to a form that they feel comfortable with.

That was really nice, philliper
It must have been much harder during Karen's time when nobody knew about eating disorders, and it must have made things do much harder to talk about for her and other people who went through it, because nobody would know what you were talking about, or they would just think you were vain or weird or something. So yeah, it is a good thing that there's a name for it now, and that people (well, some anyway) recognize it as an illness. I didn't know about Marie Osmond!
Is she okay now?
I don't know who Michelle Greene is

Yeah, I've seen that picture before. I showed Ashley, and we got all mad.
I really don't get it. I really don't.

What Photo was it? If it's one of those when Karen was sick, anyone who shows it
should be ashamed of themselves.
I thought some of those pictures were enough to break your heart.

I finally saw the image. You're right, it's sickening, and I wonder what kind of sick
mind thought that one up. It goes beyond bad taste to revolting.

The first image that pops up if you do a google image search for Karen is that piece of trash. It actually made me cry the first time I saw it. For Karen, yes, but just the fact someone thinks thats funny is sad, sad, sad. Whoever finds humour in not only making fun of Karen, but making fun of an entire DISEASE doesn't...isn't...*ends post before she says something REALLY nasty*
