Hi guys! Please answer my poll!

I haven't seen them all yet (waiting for Christmas time to watch the xmas ones and I've never seen MMM) but at this point in time, I choose their first tv special.

I'm going with Christmas Portrait because it has Gene Kelly singing and dancing with Karen Carpenter, Karen being cute in Jingle Bells, cute acting, great songs at the end of the special and that I love Christmas with the Carpenters.

2nd runner up is First TV special.

Space Encounters for it's sheer ridiculousness, Goofus and Star Wars

I went with the First Special, even though I love them and all and it was a toss-up between that and MMM...which I also adore But the first special was, fittingly, the first special I ever saw for the Carpenters, and so it will always hold a special place in my heart!

same here! i refuse to watch them until....probably thanksgiving. but i don't know if i will last that long.

I've not seen any all the way through - only short clips WAAAAA but I do like the Christmas one from what I've seen

MMM, followed closely by the first TV special.

I chose Music Music Music because it was an indication of the direction that the Carpenters were taking later on in their career, as musicians FIRST and performers second. It was more their style, as slapstick comedy was something that, in my opinion, they had to settle for. (Although, Karen was also a natural when it came to comedy). There was also a great deal of diversity in the actual song selection and it really validated them as timeless musicians, I think, rather than just simply pop stars of the 1970's.

I just watched on youtube: The Carpenters First TV Special - Hits Medley.

What a voice She sang it with such an ease, and may I add she looked absolutely stunning here

Oh man, I kinda like all of them. I think I would choose the 1976 special though.



I can't believe Karly and Basket Corn haven't seen them all yet!! Come on, people, what are you waiting for, a rainy day?

I wanna see them get released on DVD (sighs heavily) . .but that ain't gonna happen!!!

I chose the First Special too for all the same reasons Pea did and because there were so many cute and funny Karen moments in it. But MMM is close behind, and I DO adore their Christmas Specials too. But yes, the First Special holds a special place. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE their performance of TOP OF THE WORLD and the Hits Medley in the First Special.

I'm waiting to get to Florida cause that's where the two xmas specials are. I don't know if Bruce got MMM though.

did you NOT read my last post? i said i'm not going to watch the christmas ones until christmas! but i have seen the other 3.
