Is Anyone Else Having Trouble With...

... pages expiring/timing out?
It's only happening on LS cause I've been on several other sites to make sure it wasn't my internet connection or computer. It seems to be happening when I'm PMing someone or posting and it's aggravating the
out of me.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has noticed this today.

Karly!
That's so weird you should say that. It's been happening to me all evening. I tried closing the explorer down, and opening other sites and they all opened ok, except this one.

It sucks but I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was ready to throw my computer out the window.

From my understanding, there's an issue of people being logged out randomly. (I've searched around the IBforums)
IPB Staff: "There is also an issue that seems to affect some people and not others, that causes you to be logged out randomly. It's being looked into"
There is also "session validation via IP address". So some dialup users will get logged out b/c typically your IP changes. I'm not a pro on that stuff but that's what I'm reading.
Another IPB Staff quote: "Not sure what you mean by weak. In security terms, it's anything but weak. It may be an inconvenience, but it's an added security measure, and a pretty good one at that.
You can choose to enable/disable on your own forum. It doesn't only validate via IP Address, just to point that out
To clarify:
- If your IP changes, you will need to login again.
- The random logouts with the same IP is a bug, that's being looked into. "
Hope that helps

I don't know about Stephen, but it's not logging me out. The best way I can explain it is when a page is opening it's like it can't get the information fast enough so the thing times out and the page expires.

Well, the forum has some bug issues that hopefully will be fixed with the 2.2 that will be coming out. For now, just be sure to copy your PM's before sending so you wont lose the pm if it crashes on you.

Good point Pamela. I was getting the exactly same thing as Karly-Boo. Seems to be ok now though
