love this one too. i was a slow-pitch softball pitcher for 8 years

I had some nice times & memories while seeing this pic of Karen. (Of course, it kinda reminds me of Matt alot even though he looks nothing like this pic. )



Then just my favorite looks of her...






And of course, this was the picture where I saw Karen for the VERY FIRST TIME EVER, when I was 14..



I wasn't really too impressed at first, but its not really the best picture anyway,

You're right about the last picture Leanne. I guess they hated it. I mean, they were drenched, and Karen's stockings were falling down.

I still dig it.

The photographer on the Close To You album was a lot more creative than ones that followed! At least the background is cool looking.

stephen, i completely agree! yes, karen and richard look a little "fluffy" and "sappy" but the angle of the camera....the background....everything just ties together. i like it.

Although I loved her music on the radio when I was young, it wasn't until the late 70's that I saw a photograph of her. This is the first image I saw of the Carpenters. My 12 year old heart was stolen forever! I'll always love this look / style.

Oh yeah, that's a really nice picture, Chris. I think the lighting is much brighter than usual, because her eyes don't even look brown anymore. But yea, I think her hair is really awesome there. That's like 76 or 77, right?

That's one of my favourite Carps pics. ANY pic of Karen is beautiful, so I couldn't decide. If I find a really good one, I'll post it here.
