Have you listened to the 'original master karaoke' yet, Laura? That gives you the chance to hear everything without the lead vocal, which is interesting. You also appreciate Karen's skill even more, as you realise that in most cases there was no melody line anywhere in the accompaniment for her to follow - she provided that all by herself!

Several versions of Karaoke CD were released in Japan. The latest was released last December.
You can play Richard's Karaoke on regular CD player.

You don't have to search for old Master Karaoke.
Several years after Master Karaoke, Richard made "Sing". New version contains "Sing".

CD set "Twenty-two Hits of the Carpenters 10th Annviersary Edition"
has compilation "Twenty-two Hits of the Carpenters" and
"Karaoke". Karaoke songs are:
1. Yesterday Once More
2. Superstar
3. Rainy Days and Mondays
4. Top of the World
5. Sing
6. This Masquerade
7. I Won't Last a Day Without You
8. For All We Know
9. Jambalaya (On the Bayou)
10. (They Long to Be) Close to You
11. Hurting Each Other
12. Please Mr. Postman
13. Bless the Beasts and Children
14. Goodbye to Love
15. I Need to Be In Love
16. We've Only Just Begun

This is very reasonable price as Japanese release. (Japanese releases are alway more expensive than other countries.) I think this is not limited editon.

Oversea fans got the set from HMV, Amazon or CDJapan,.... I guess.

Master Karaoke that Richard made was popular at auction sites, but Universal Japan had not thought they would release Karaoke again. When AR man of Universal asked fans about our opinions, Yuka recommended Karaoke, then it was released!!

In Japan Carpenters CD is not released even if we send requests to Universal Music. We have to ask Carpenters CD at real store, and many real store staff refers for a CD to Universal, then CD may be released.

If young fans in the U.S. sent requests to A&M or make real stores contact with A&M about Carpenters, I'll be glad.

I'm still dreaming of releases of TV Special DVD's and unreleased songs.
