Karen Carpenter At "burning Man"

Have you ever heard of Burning Man? It is a wild projection of art, music and culture that is done once a year (August) in the Black Rock desert of Nevada.
See it at burningman.com.
A city begins from dust and builds (like a boom town from the Wild West) for a couple of weeks to a crescendo with a pagan-like ritual where a giant scuplture of a man is burned. Then the city is de-constructed and everyone goes back to their normal life.
The only "Carpenters" there are those who build structures
Many musical groups grace the desert playa playing at all hours with mostly modern ska, reggae, classic rock, rock, jazz, drumming (bongo) rhythms.
I, being the huge sap that I am, decided to bring The Carpenters to the playa. Very strange place to do so, but Burning Man is the perfect place to live out an obsession.
Under the beautiful night sky, I walked out with my CD player and a couple of the Carpenters' CDs, and proceeded to play them to my hearts' delight. There is a lot of room out on the playa, so I thought I would not be bothered, but all it took was for passerbys to hear Karen singing, and they came up and sang with me.
very cool.
Join me next year at Burning Man for another Carpenters' playing on the playa.
