23 YEARS AGO Karen got married to Tom Burris.Hmmm...I'm not sure if it's a really nice date to remember,I'm always sad she wasn't happy in her marriage and it didn't work out.Oh and I got a question for you,where and how did Karen meet Tom?Do we know what does he do now?

Kania, I'm not sure how they met. I always thought it was something like on the Karen Carpenter Story. Not sure though, sorry!!!

Hard to believe that it was exactly 23 years ago today!

It's really a shame that it didn't work out though, Karen's life would have been a whole lot different in many ways.

'Listening Post". You can hear Karen and Tom's vows at their wedding
ceremony!! You also hear Karen sing "Because We Are In Love". I can listen
to Richard's "The Wedding Prayer" only at Murray's. We also enjoy the audio
clips from 'Live in Holland"(1976). I love Live "I Need To Be In Love" and
Grease songs.

restaurant that Karen wanted to skip, and there she met Tom Burris,

Karen Carpenter was married on 31 August 1980 to real estate developer
Thomas James Burris whom she had been introduced to by Mike Curbs(It
Governor of California) sister Carole Scotti.

I might read Karen dated Mike Curb before.

If you choose 'Pictures' and "The Merv Griffin Show", you will read about Karen's
boat trip with Tom, Olivia Newton-John and her boyfriend Matt Latanzi (Oliva was
married to Matt later, their daughter came to Japan this April and she and Olivia
sang together. They say that Olivia and Matt had lived together for four years.)
