New Posts

Lately when I check new posts, a lot of the time, it's like the sub-forum resets or something. I'm sure that makes no sense, so I'll try explaining it as best I can. Lets say I'm in the off-topic forum and I click on a thread. I read the new posts and then reply (or don't reply, it doesn't really matter). When I'm done reading, I'll click on "Off-Topic" under the last post so that I can check the new unread posts in a different topic. Sometimes when I click back to the off-topic "main page", the threads that I have already checked say there's a new post and when I click on them, it ends up going to the last unread post from the last time I logged on. Does that make any sense?
I'm just wondering if that's happened to anyone else cause it's really annoying. It's happened to me quite a few times today.

That happens to me a lot, too!! It's a little annoying!
I've also noticed that sometimes it doesn't register a post, like when I was trying to get off of a count of 666 (lmao) I had to post twice before it upped me to 667. It somehow missed one.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who is experiencing this evil-ness.

That's because one of your posts was in the Game room and those dont go toward your post count I think I know what you are talking about. Do you mean when you read a post it's not being marked as read? It's still early and I cant concentrate b/c Erica just wont leave the poor puppy alone!
When you are finished with the forum... toward the bottom of the forum there's a link to mark all forums as read.

In the last couple of days my post count hasn't changed (ie it hasn't gone up) when I have made a post, and they haven't all been in the games room which you say doesn't count. Are there other forums where posts don't count as well? I seem to have been at 'Caravan' level for absolutely ages

Caravan will change before you know it. The next level gets further away as you go up. The post counts are a secret though
I'll take a look at your post count and see what's up.

I think it only registers as read if you click back to the forum. Dont use the back button.
I've seen it too occasionally, and that's not it. When I do see it, I always refresh to see if it clears, but no, the past five or six or whatever threads that I have already looked at completely show "new posts"
It's a software/code glitch of some sort.

Way better explanation.
