Carpenters Encounter 2007 ~World Contact Days
This is a 4 day international event for all those who love and
admire the music of Karen and Richard Carpenter.
Planned for the month of July 2007, it will take place in
Downey, California USA.

Thanks for letting us know about this and keeping us in the loop! Hopefully members here can join in on the fun since I know we've been wanting a get together! So it would be great to pool members from all the forums/groups and meet each other. I keep hearing how much fun the last one was!

The planning committee has decided to announce this 17 months ahead of time in order to give fans enough time to plan for it. We have many interesting C's related activities and special guests planned. It should be lots of fun.

Does this mean Richard will be there??? Well, the 1999 30th C's Anniversary Celebration was very well received by Richard.

got a "poll" that gave vague information and questions about what we wanted to do.....yikes! the hotel is going to be around $150 PER NIGHT. so 3 nights, registration fee, and plane tickets.....i'm not sure if i can go. BUT I WANNA!

Yeah I did that poll a few days ago. There seems to be a possibility that it might be put off til Feb 2008. As much as I'd love it to be in July (the sooner the better!!), it would be much easier financially if it was delayed. I wonder why they were considering changing the date?

Wow, I wish I could go too...But I can't since we're saving up for our wedding next next year...I wonder if my boss will go back home there in the US and I could hop into his bag? 
Or how far is California from New York or Kansas? I have friends there, perhaps I could stay with them if I could go so that I'd save on hotel expenses..

New York is on the other side of the country. 2,000 miles approximately? Kansas is not as far away as New York but still way too far.
I'd like to go but would have to find someone to share expenses for the hotel.
