She is always with us no matter where we may be in life. I wish I had all of their regular albums, not compilation albums, but the original albums. Even if they are on cd. All I have right now is the Love Songs album, and I LOVE it very much, but it's not like the original album each song came from.

Hi,
There is no doubt Karen was special. It is also clear that Karen possessed an extraordinary gift of musical talent. I find it soooooo touching and heartening to come here on this site and see people from all over and of different ages pay tribute to her, listen to her music and keep her memory alive while also helping expose new people to her.
I truly hope, really really hope that as the 25th anniversary comes, special things will take place to mark it and remember her. We, all here, can do our part to make that happen. I never was able to relate too much to my Mom and her sense of loss when August 16th came around which is her birthday and when Elvis died. She is such a huge fan of his. But now that I'm older, I get it. It's about honoring, remembering and keeping alive the music of a talent you adored.
That's how I feel about Karen.
For a 'celebrity' she put her guard down for us by singing songs that surely touched her. I cant help but think of I Need to be In Love, as an example. The honesty in her voice, singing and her ability to feel the lyrics meant a lot in what made her great.
Then, there is THE VOICE.
For those too young to know, Frank Sinatra had that title. But, for me, THE VOICE is KAREN CARPENTER.
For all time.
I just bought a new cd collection called the Ultimate Collection. It's 3 cds and I got it from Amazon. I highly, strongly reccomend it. It's a great collection. I was blasting Only Yesterday again and again in my car today.
I miss her too and I wish she were living today where with the Internet and much more knowledge about medicine she could see how many people love her and think of her so highly and how there would be help for her.
Karen was a lovely soul and I am sure her spirit lives on, just look at us getting together here beacuse of her!
Karen we love you and will not forget you.

I can now listen to all those wonderful original albums I have had since I bought them so many
years ago. CD's are great - but I have albums I haven't played in 25 years!
Karen, I Love you, I Miss you and My life is not the same without you.
Celebrate the Legacy of this Wonderful Lady and be well...
All my best to everyone-

I love Karen's angelic, pure and beautiful voice. I love listening to her. It brings me back to my childhood and all the wonderful times I had with my family in the 70's. I can't get enough of her. She is the BEST female vocalist of ALL-TIME!!! Second is Ella Fitzgerald. May Karen & Ella Rest In Peace. I wish you both were still here
