What I like most about Karen's music is that had a positive message and had heartfelt lyrics that were unique and contagious. I think this pretty well sums it up.

Her music did and still does have a positive message. I know this is a little off the subject, but I have another favourite singer whose lyrics have a positive message as well. Céline Dion's music is very positive. The lyrics say the same thing Karen's did when she was singing them. I really LOVE the song "Top Of The World." Why? Because it tells people to be on top of the world when things get too rough and tough to handle. Karen had the perfect smile about her. She seemed to always be on the positive when she was starting out in the music biz. But when she was near the end, she didn't look like she had as positive outlook on life as before, which I don't blame her. She was battling anerexcia, so that was one of the factors. That's all I have to say for now.

Ironic that you say that, because while I think many of her songs are happy and upbeat, I feel more are solomn with a sort of melancholy only Karen could bring to a song.
I love that quote about her singing from a part of her soul that she didn't even know about...it's on the main page somewhere...

I like thre things in carpenters songs:
1.-Karen's voice
2.-Richard's arrangements
3.-The last but is important too: the letters of the songs every song has an especial message algo que nos quiere decir y que talvez nos motiva
