Continued Conversations Forum

Could there possibly be a way to create a forum for "Continued Conversation" type posts? For example, the "How Do You Think Of Yourself?" posting has back & forth responses that could better be handled elsewhere so that the topic is continued more fluently with each new response. It seems more & more that postings are filling up with conversations between 2 to 3 members & drifting from the original intent of the postings. In no way am I complaining because I love this site & everyone on it. I am just looking for a way to make it more convenient for them to continue their conversations on another location. I know that the Chat Room is a good place for live chat, but for those who are only able to post responses a sentence at a time, a "Continued Conversation" Forum would work well (my opinion).

One suggestion would be to just make a post with a link to the new thread to continue a conversation in the off-topic section. I really have a hard time with all the other sites and keeping track with the forums now. 
I may end up with a couple mod's to help with the forums while I get some other work done. But for now, that's my best suggestion.

To be fair Bill, sometimes it's enough to bring people back into line by posting the 
emoticon, and a friendly little dig to remind people. I've seen plenty other people do that and it works, we're all friends here so no one would ever take offence. Just an idea.
