Staying Logged In?

RoadOde's Photo RoadOde 09 Dec 2005

I used to be able to stay logged in all the time, now whenever I leave the site for a while and come back I have to keep entering my log in stuff. Any idea why this is happening and how I can stay logged in like I used to? Thanks.

I believe it leaves you logged in for about 30 minutes and then logs you out if not activity.

I think it's interesting how if you're logged in, and then you click on the main site, when you come back, you're logged out. :)

For me it also changes the skin, so I get all confused, but that's okay. :whistle

If you have Christmasnow skin choosen, then it will go back to Noel when you're logged out b/c that is set as the default skin. :)

I dont quite understand the whole thing around why people get logged out. Has something to do with cookie settings on your computers.

I'm logged in all the time (unless Bruce has logged me out or I've logged myself out). :) If you go to the log in page itself and you check on the "Remember Me" box, you should be logged in all the time on your computer. :whistle

Thanks, I knew I used to always stay logged in so there had to be a solution. I'll give it a try.

I've tried that and it still doesn't keep me logged in, but it's not a huge deal.

I could try deleting the cookies [tragic, I know]...that might fix it.

You wont stay logged in when you're inactive. But if your active and getting logged out, then it has something to do with cookie settings. Which I'm not a pro with so can't be much help. But try clicking the "remember me" box when logging in.

Ah okay then, I am not having a problem.

To delete your cookies you right click on Internet Explorer and go to Internet Properties...that might help someone...maybe...
