Karaoke Masters

newvillefan's Photo newvillefan 30 Sep 2005

Yuka Ogura reports on her site that Universal Music Japan will release a karaoke CD as a part of 2CD set celebrating 10th anniversary of "22 Hits" release. The recently remastered karaoke version of "Sing" will be added to the karaoke disc. Release date looks like to be December 7th.

This effectively looks to be a re-release of the original Karaoke Masters, originally released below - I will DEFINITELY be buying this!

That is certainly a nice item to have! I bought mine from Yuka a long while back and have used it at karaoke several times. I sang Masquerade, Jambalaya and I Need to Be In Love. One thing to keep in mind though.... it does not have the sing along lyrics. It has a blue screen. But it always impresses people when you get up there and sing without the words for some reason. Dont know if the lyrics will be included in this one. If so, I may consider buying it too.

I'm not sure, but I think the second disc on this upcoming release is just an audio CD with the hits minus Karen's vocal? The one you mention would have to be a DVD or CD-G. Did it have the above cover?

It's just the audio CD with that cover. Not a dvd or cd-g. You can use it for karaoke

Great to hear "Sing" will be included on the forthcoming release of the Karaoke tracks. Like many of you, I too purchased this some years ago and have enjoyed it tremendously when gathering with friends! Of course, it's also nice to put it on and sing out LOUD and strong in the shower!!!! LOL!!!

Thanks Yuka-san for posting the info for everyone.

OMG this CD is fantastic..........I can't wait for its re-release as I missed it last time.

On the track, Superstar, Karens voice can still be heard in the background (very low but still there) yet the great thing about the set is that the Karaoke Cd is the exact music - better then the Karaoke DVD, CD-G that are out there.

7th December - off to the stores again :hmm:

Yeah Steve, that's the best thing about it - it's the original music with Carpenters backing vocals intact. I love how much of Richard's arrangements and piano licks are 'revealed' when Karen's voice is not there.

Incidentally, her voice can be heard on Superstar because there was leakage from the vocal recording into the bass channel. :2thumbs

This is out of print and pretty hard to find. F sent me the cd so I could
share it with you. You can download it here for a limited time.

I've included the artwork with this email.

The interesting thing about this album is that it is the ORIZGINAL
Carpenters backing tracks, as opposed to some cheesy knock off.

Thanks F.

I'm listening to the album right now and loving it!! To me the only downside to it so far is that the tracks are the remixed versions of the songs (when they have been remixed). Anyway it's great!

EDIT: It's the original 15 tracks cd, without Sing.
