As soon as I get a chance, I will be upgrading the forum to the next version. From what I hear, it blows this one away!

There are a couple of ideas I'm kicking around, let me know what you think.

Some post about being able to upload things to posts etc. I would love to allow that, but the bandwidth for this site is MANY GIGS of transfer each month. If I were to add uploading features for members, I would eventually have to put this on it's own server. Leadsister.com gets over 23 million hits a year so you can only imagine.

So, the only way I could offer uploading options is to enable the Paid Subscriptions option and those members will be able to upload pictures to posts and I would at that point offer the personal Invision Gallery. Where you can upload your own photos to your own gallery.

Anyway... it's an idea I'm thinking about Let me know if it's something people would be interested in. If there's not enough interest, then I wouldnt go through installing those.

I'm really looking forward to the upgrade! By the upload option, do you mean we could pay to have our own kind of photobucket account within the site? Sorry if I'm being thick.

You're not being thick Yes, there's a gallery option where you can upload photos. Members can go in and view your photo's. Also, upload option as far as being able to add photos to posts which is separate from the gallery. Below is an example of an attachment.

And yeah, it's crazy the amount of traffic this site gets!

Daily visits are 1,229
Monthly visits are 22,127

Year to date hits on the site 27,825,205. That number may be a bit high b/c of the forum too. But still.... that's alot! And averaging around 30,000 unique visitors a month!!

So hopefully everyone can understand the reason why if I offer uploads, it has to be a paid subscription. Especially with buying a new house! Just wouldnt have the funds otherwise.

Hi Pam,

I also am thick about these kinds of things. Does this mean that it would kind of be like a subscription to access stuff that is usually found in the "For Members Only" section?

Well if I was Pam, I would not activate this particular option. Because the files are then really on her server. I don't know if it's all legal the file trades we do sometimes. I wouldn't risk it.

Hello...

The subscriptions would not include files like is shared with rapidshare. Those are WAY too big and better left to rapidshare and the like. It's for images only.

Hey Pam,
I look forward to the upgrade but I do have a suggestion & that is to hold off on the paid subscription idea right now because we are heading into the holiday season & people like myself will have to be tight with our money for a while. This is just a suggestion & I know you will do what you feel is best for the site. Thank You.

I will hold off on any options right now. But be sure to give me any feedback you may have.
