UK comedian Johnny Vegas launches his new entertainment show this Friday night, and it starts off with what could possibly be the most insulting treatment of a Carpenters song imaginable. Here's a review:
UK Channel 4 10.15pm Friday 27th May - Johnny Vegas: 18 Stone of Idiot
"This show doesn't so much break new ground as smash into it with a rusty bulldozer, with Vegas drunkenly at the wheel screaming obscenities. It's not for the faint hearted.
The show starts with the host roaring out a Carpenters tune while being caned by a line of scantily clad chorus girls, and it goes downhill from there"

I cannot stand Johnny Vegas. Not because of what I read in this thread but because he is just a grose, big fat idiot. If he thinks shouting and being vulgar is funny then I'm sure a few people in some rough drinking establishment in a rough part of Britain could do a much better job.

Hiya Paul
Some people find that funny precisely because they don't come from a rough pub in a rough town somewhere, it's like seeing another slice of life. It's because it's so cringeworthy that people find it funny. And the other thing a lot of people don't actually realise, is that he isn't really drunk - it's all acting.
People find it easier and safer to laugh at him cos they're doing so from the comfort of their own sofa. Now, if he turned up in my local, I probably would be horrified

P.S. You weren't referring to North East Working Mens' Clubs there by any chance, were you
