I Converted Someone To The Carpenters!

Tonight, while at my Aunty's house I was singing on my cousins kareoke machine. Guess what I was singing? Well, it was Close to You. My 8 year old cousin says to me "I like that song". He was surprised it was the Carpenters as he had heard that I love them but he didn't know any of their songs. I then put on the Greatest Hits which I recently gave to my Aunty as a present and now he can't stop playing Close to You. Yay! My other cousin (his older sister) who's 12 was also singing it too. I just hope he plays the rest of the album too.
He also seemed to like Calling Occupants. I'm not surprised as I loved that song when I was a kid. It has a good comic element which kids identify with.
It seems the Carpenters appeal to all generations. I'm sure this will never change as long as their are fans alive to play their muisc and introduce it to new listeners.

That's awesome!!! Its hard to find your converts! And kids too! I managed to convert someone to "Judy-ism"! But I haven't had luck with getting a Carpenter convert yet. I'll try it with my niece but she's only 19 months old. Maybe I REALLY AM a closet fan. Karen's my personal treasure, I guess!!
(But you can bet any husband and future kids will HAVE to convert to them or else! Especially if my daughter's name ends up being Karen. heh)
