I was just curious who owns the rights to these tracks?
Does Richard?

They are in A&M's vaults I believe and I'd assume A&M owns them. Either that or they were passed to Richard on her death, but I'm sure he has them safely stored away for preservation.
Whoever does own them, it would have to be agreed by Richard anyway if they were ever to be released in any form, original or remixed, since a rider was added to their contract in 1976 (which still stands) that explicitly stated A&M could never release any of their material without his express permission.

i dont know if i heard this right...but did i read somewhere that Herb Albert has owned the tapes since 2000??

I know herb albert is still in a lawsuit with Universal? about him being underpaid for that sell to Universal. anyone care to mention this or does it go in a seperate topic column?
