Well. As you can tell by the title, I think we should have a LEAD SISTER-Carpenters meet up.

I'd love to do this, you all seem like such a GOOD group of people. You aren't stuffy like other forums!

Well...I was thinking that perhaps this summer we can have a WEEKEND MEET-UP in Chicago, Illinois (USA). There is lots to do - we can eat, shop, and of course, share all of our Carpenters thoughts and feelings.

There is lots to do. This could sort of be an annual thing, we could have cities that we meet-up in. Maybe every 2 years, I don't know. I'm sure we'd all have a good time.

What do you guys think?

Who would want to come? Who would be willing?

I don't think it would be incredibly hard to do. I was thinking perhaps we can stay at the EMBASSY SUITES in Chicago (just right off of Michigan Ave.).
I'd have to call the hotel to see what we could do.

This is just a thought, let me know.

I think I'm trying to decide between the University of Cincinnati and Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago for college, and you're not making this any easier!!!

Well this would absolutely be fun!

I am from the Quad Cities in Illinois. Chicago is a roughly 3 hour trip. I think I'd take the train to get there. It makes a FUN trip.

I really think we should do this.

I'd LOVE to meet fellow Carpenters fans I wish it could be in LA though so we could go on a Carpenters tour! Actually I wish I could buy a bus, move to LA & start my OWN Carpenters tour!

I'd love to meet up with everyone but 2005 is a bit tricky. I've got a U.S. trip planned for next month so couldn't do both !!

I visited Chicago last year and I loved it (especially the cocktail bar on the 9?th floor of the Hancock tower).

However, I'm off to the ultimate Carpenters tour in TWO WEEKS

I'll be gettin down with Richard at TOTW and moseying around Downey, then up to Huntington Gardens and Thousand Oaks. Wanna come?

Sounds great to me. I like the idea of meeting everyone. It will be tough to coordinate everyones schedule though I'd think. But I'm up for picking a date (or several) and giving it a shot.
