Weird! I just had this question in my mind as I drove home from work today!!!

Wow, Matt, you REALLY are new to Karen. Well, its practically the same for me. Sure, I've listened to her music since 1990, saw the bio movie and read the autobiography (yet can't retain much info from either), I'm pretty much NEW to seeing Karen as a real person which started on Feb. 4th, this year. Getting to see SO MUCH video and TV specials and unreleased solo tracks has been like a 4 week, non stop drug for this fanatic now.

So, to answer the topic, the only things I have in my collection of the Carpenters is:
2 tape cassettes of Close To You & Reminise ? (they are wearing yellow on the cover),
Love Songs 2 disc set, and a Christmas collection CD.
That's basically it, unless you count all the video files I've now collected on my hard drive. Oh, and in the back room of my library at work is a vinyl album of their "Singles 1974-1978" I beleive. Since the records are not used and out of date, perhaps I'll just "borrow" this.... yeah, that's right... borrow.... :bowdown

I've been a fan only since 1996 but thanks to ebay I've been able to aquire a couple of things. The only original stuff I have is a 1979 fan club tshirt, all the original fanclub newsletters, and the LP Offering. I also have alot of pictures, a few other LP's and 45's, tons of newsclippings, and autographs from the authors of the Mook Book and the book Carpenters Forever by Ronald Garcia with Chris Tassin's artwork in it.

But I would really love to get my hands on the belt buckle and/or the watch! hint hint :bowdown

Occasionally I'll check out ebay for some cool stuff but I never buy anything except albums and dvds.... because in the end, it's what I want the most. I'm acquiring quite a stash. I think it would be fun to gather it all together and roll around in it.  :(

Wow, you are lucky cause you actually saved the stuff you experienced right when the Carpenters were popular! I don't think I will find something I like strongly enough in the future where I could collect as I enjoy it and its real time. It must be a fun stash to look through! Lucky, you got to go to a concert?

I think the Carpenters item I would most like other then a real autograph would be the People magazine cover dated Aug. 2, 1976 cause its the day before I was born and its them on the cover that week!

I have all the albums on dvd. The only LP I have is "Live From The Palladium" which I bought when it was released. I loved it and almost wore it out.

I always promised myself that one day I'd go to a live show and experience all the magic of a live performance for myself :bowdown

I have all the albums on CD (including Live in Japan and Live at the palladium) except A Song For You and Now & Then. I also have teh From the Top boxset. I have bought numerous compilation albums over the years too. In fact i recently gave away the UK 1990 Greatest Hits release to my Aunty as I bought the new Gold CD/DVD which has just been released. I gave it away because the sound isn't very good on it (it's an old CD) and I never play it. My Aunty loves the Carpenters so I thought I'd share.
I have the Greatest Hits DVD, the Close to You - Remembering the Carpenters DVD and the Live at the BBC DVD. I also have the Ray Coleman book.

I work in T.G.I Friday's and in one of the display cabinets on the wall is a pristine copy of the Now & Then album. I'd love to get my hands on it. :bowdown I might steal it when I leave. :(

I would love to own some origianl Carpenters LP's esepecially the Singles 1969-1973 which they don't make anymore.

I get all my LPs at goodwill and other thrift stores. They usually on cost around .50 and most of mine are in pretty good shape.
