I saw her last night at the Oscar's and I don't have a CD of her's except A Star Is Born. I like the little clip! She does a really great version. I looked for it on just an album but its only on the box set and I'm noy paying that much for Steisand's stuff when there sooo much Carpenters stuff out there!

Streisand also recorded SING -- her son Jason (with Elliot Gould) @ the time 73/74 was a Sesame Street fan. Her son was diagnosed with HIV a few years ago.

I don't like the arrangement (maybe I'm just spoiled ) but she sings it very well.

Barbara Streisand is one of those artists that I admire, respect and like, but I just never bought any of her albums. When she and Dustin Hoffman were presenting last night it struck me how the two of them have such longevity in their careers. Truly classy, both of them.

Barbra Streisand is unbelievable!!! She is an awesome singer, actress, producer, writer, etc. . . .

I loved her in Yentl (especially when she kisses Amy Irving)

Actually, I loved A Star is Born, and saw it literally 10 times when it came out in 1977 or so. Do you recall that Gary Busey was in that movie?

To be honest I've only see a part of that version of A Star is Born, but I have the soundtrack. I ordered that Essentail Collection to night.

Streisand's version of WOJB is from Burt Bacharach's 1970 TV Special -shown just after Carpenters classic version hit #1 on several USA charts .....

Bacharach performs with Streisand -interesting version ....still Carpenters have the all time classic ....

Box set has been reduced in price by 30-40% in UK ...has this not occured in USA as well ?

There's three diffrent versions of the box set.
All the music's the same, but the case/box is diffrent.
Price Has Gone Down here Too.

Argh... don't tempt me with all this 'reduced price' talk. I have a habit of spending too much on music already.....!!!

Hey Peter, sorry but you are mistaken. Barbra and Burt sang Close to You on that 1970 TV special. Barbra recorded We've Only Just Begun later.

It is amazing ! I just bought 10 of her albums in the last 3 months. Too bad about her son Jason. AIDS is terrible. Lost my first hubby to the disease and my hubby now is positive too. So sad.......
