Karen As An Actress

After watching some of the Christmas special I felt I had to comment on what a natural actress Karen was (IMO). She was so good! And with her natural charisma and charm she would have made a great actress. I'm surprised any movie producers did not approach her.
I thought Richard was awful though. You can tell he wasn't comfortable doing those skits. He looks so awkward, poor thing.

I Totally agree, she definitely would've been a triple threat as they say! Richard on the other hand seemed very forced most of the time
She was mesmerizing in the specials and most definitely as a person.

I am beginning to agree that she would have been good. So far, I think her best quality was her voice in song and her dancing in the specials is good enough, not too complicated though. But with each special I view, I can tell she is the one the eye will draw towards. She seems so natural with her body language and speaking in the shows I wouldn't doubt she could have been good in movies. She wanted to do those college musical movies and she would have been perfect. I am still not sure about dramatic acting, but she certainly had real life pathos to fall on if she wanted to persue acting further. She has comic timing as well. She delivers effective ways of saying a funny line.. watch her when she says "Just goes to show you that people are people, some are from outer space.. and some are spaced out! ... But still friends!"
Karen just has "It' on screen and you can tell, because Richard doesn't. She just draws you to focus on her when the camera is on!

Karen's sense of humour was really riveting in the few places I've seen it come through... it's true, she would have been a great actress if given the opportunity (that is, more than the TV skits and specials where there's no time for developing the 'character'). She wasn't afraid of the camera at all as she got used to her stardom.

I've always though Karen had a natural ease with the camera too.
I love her part with John Denver, she really tries to make him feel less nervous!
About RC seeming nervous he seems really happy with ONJ on the 1st TV Special, but then I'd be happy too if i was in his place then

This is kinda related to this topic.
If they were to do another film regarding Karen's life then I think Katie Melua would be a GREAT choice!
For those who don't know or unsure about who she is, this is her official website address: www.katiemelua.com

I think she'd be a great choice!
I wonder who could play RC and Agnes
Those two roles would be hard to play!
I mean you could really make some people mad by messing those up.
(Richard!
)
Overall I think Cynthia Gibb did an okay job, but Louise Fletcher as Agnes, that really shows how the movie was going to portray her.
And whats his name that played RC

I agre Karen would be a good actress she would likely approach it the same way she did her singing career and work at it until she perfected it. Like her singing and performance I can see Karen getting better and more confident as she developed her acting career. I am sure she must have got some film offers maybe she or others did not think they were suitable for her.
ONJ was on the First Television Special? I never saw her there what was she doing what scene(s) was she in I don't remember her.

To me the cutest bit of Karen's play acting to the camera, is in Carpenters At Christmas, where she is going through the family photos and ribbing the members of her family, including herself. She's hilarious and cute at the same time. Also I do believe Joanie is on one of those pics cos Karen mentions her name.
