Which Karen SOLO song would you like to see being released today, and given a chance to recieve airplay? Which do you think is so contemporary sounding in today's music market?

My thoughts,

Cam , I wouldn't choose any of these as I don't think they are good enough songs. That's why they didn't make it onto the solo album.

They would never get airplay today as they were recorded 25 years ago. All radio plays today is rap, R&B, hip-hop and soft rock.

I picked "SOMETHING'S MISSING".

You're correct Mr. Johnson, there is only R&B etc out in the singles chart today, that's why there is something missing - a great voice, a great personality - Karen Carpenter!

:2thumbs Simon :D

If any, I think Something's Missing would be the choice, I think this is hot contender for a remix by Richard. Not as a single, but just as a new addition to a compilation, in the same way he did with 'Trying To Get The Feeling Again' in 1994.

I could easily see that song being put out with a new/revised backing track, it's the least disco-fied /Phil Ramone type song on there, more aligned with Karen's usual type of material with the Carpenters.

I agree totally! I think this song is one of the few that need to be remixed. It's a great song and I :2thumbs it!

I chose TRULY YOU. It is so JEWEL-esque in ways. A wonderful song.

It won't let me vote!!! Says I already voted but I haven't.

Maybe it's because I visited this poll before without voting. The same thing happened with the Star sign poll. :headphones

Can't agree there I like most if not all the unreleased songs and do not find them subpar compared to those on the record they were just as good. I also don't thinkthey sounded disco either.

I chose Midnight I really like this song and would love to hear what a remixed version would sound like.

I CANT CHOOSE JUST ONE! I love them all! And I have to disagree about them not being as good as the others. They are ALL wonderful!

I think I agree with you enigma... a remixed version of Midnight would be nice... it has a slow jazziness that appeals to me. Though I also like Love Making Love To You.

Who am I kidding... I'd like to see them all completed and released... heard talk once that Phil Ramone was actually contemplating it but obviously it never happened. Would be great if he did though... *heavy sigh*.... (maybe we can petition him.)

I've often wondered who owns the rights to these songs?

Does RC?
Does Phil Ramone?
Does A & M?
