I chose "Cyrstall" becasue it's just beautiful but out of all the songs I'd love to hear her sing "For All we Know" :2thumbs

I chose SOLITAIRE. I don't think I have ever heard a "LIVE" version of this song. This song showcases her voice perfectly. The high and low aspects of her range...her pronounciation...the mood...the despair. All make for a perfect vocal reading that only Karen could do...

My thoughts,

I chose Ave Maria because it sounds so beautiful on just a recording, if I heard Karen sing it live it would be so emotional. Her voice is spectacular with the range on the song.

I have picked Yesterday Once More for it's alto notes but I'd like to hear her sing "You" right now. :D

I choose "Maybe It's You". It's a real moving, melodic song that Karen sings and showcases so well and beautifully.

My choice would be Ave Maria - in Richard's words 'it's a bear to sing, but Karen knocks it out beautifully'. Couldn't have put it better, and god knows what it would have sounded like today, if her voice had had 22 more years to ripen and mature. The mind boggles really.

That's really hard picture of Karen (or anybody) to look at :)

tough choices here but I went with Superstar cause its my #1 Carpenters song for reasons most of you already know. I would also love to see her sing Only Yesterday live in its entirety. Both great vocal performances. :bowdown :headphones :D

No offense pushfrog but your avitar is pretty scarey looking and definately a hard one for me to look at.

She did, maybe not on video but I have the entire Live In Concert audio file dated August 5 1975 - track number 2...Only Yesterday. It sounds identical to the record and gets rapturous applause.
