Hello everyone,
My name is Annie and I just joined the forum. I'm 21 years old and I live in Toronto, Canada. I always browse this website and this forum and finally decided to join, all of you seem like such nice people!
I've been a fan of the Carpenters since I was 12 when my mother gave me their "Christmas Portrait" album for Christmas. I wasn't really aware of who they were though until a few years ago. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a whole lot on the Carpenters out there nowadays, and my generation just hasn't been exposed enough to their wonderful music! I read that some of you were trying to get certain channels to air tributes to Karen on the 4th, I hope that they take your requests into account. After all, there's an Elvis tribute every day!
I moved abroad a lot as a child and listening to the Carpenters was always very comforting as they reminded me of North America which I missed terribly. Karen always seemed so easy to identify with, and Richard always seemed so kind.
Anyway, this seems like a great forum and I look forward to "posting" with you!
