I was watching tv last night, and all of a sudden an Auqafina Water commercial comes on with Top of the World playing. I was so shocked, but delighted also. The commercial is about 15 seconds long, and shows people embracing and hugging each other, while Top of the World plays.

Awesome!! I haven't seen it!!

I realize we live in a heavily commercialized world these days and it's not going to change anytime soon. Even so, did anyone ever think we'd hear Karen in a spot for bottled water? Think of the possibilities-"Ticket to Ride" for an airline, "Rainy days and Mondays" for an umbrella company, "Sweet sweet smile" for a dentist....it boggles the mind. Seriously, I'm glad that Karen and Richard's talents continue to endure, it just goes to show that people know the good stuff when they see it.

Did wonder how the advert would pan out ....after Richard joked at CPAC concert that with Aquafina TOTW song ads out over next few months ....everyone might become very sick & tired of this Carpenters classic -standard as this is still played on radio & heard in other media with being #1 single in December 1973

Interesting to see impact on catalog sales , sales of GOLD 2CD set -perhaps Universal -A&M will run more promotion adverts during Thanksgiving & Christmas 2004 ....should ensure huge sales into 2005

Richard has been offered many other adverts / requests for use of Carpenters tracks in films / TV shows etc -but remains wiselty selective ....

I was glad to see they used the original version. Most commercials that use old songs re-record them with different singers.

This is an old topic, but I just saw the commercial for the first time today...I thought it was older and I'd missed any chance of seeing it. You have to admit, when you're not really paying attention to the tv, it's quite a thrill to all of the sudden hear Karen!!!

Nope - send us an MP3 file of the song so we ALL can hear it
