What Musical Bridge Is Your Favorite?

ReDuende's Photo ReDuende 03 May 2004

Hi everyone! In many KC's songs she sings a musical bridge that ties the melody together. An example of that is in the song I Won't Last a day Without You when she starts it with: "Touch me and I end up singing, troubles seem to up and disappear...."

To me that is her best bridge but I also like the bridge in "Let me be the one" a lot.

She also uses an opening "bridge" so to speak as a form of intruducing songs. This is very true with some of her Christmas music as well as "When I Fall In Love", for example. It is that little extra bit of music that the Carpenters add to make the whole thing sound that much better.

I'd like your opinions my friends!

Certainly bridges within I Won't Last A Day and Let Me Be The One -stand out as great Williams / Nichols songs .....

Would add bridges to I Believe You and Carpenters version of Make Believe that Richard asked the co-composers to add

Does "Rainy Days & Mondays" have a musical bridge?

Yes it does Aaron! "Funny how it seems I always wind up here with you...."

That is the bridge for that song. Good call!

A bridge is what connects the song. Like with Close To You you have a verse, then the bridge "On the day when you were born....." then another verse. It is the middle part that makes the song unique and interesting. Some songs from other artists don't have them, but with those there is no real difference between the verses. Listen to some of the songs mentioned and you'll see what we mean. I hope that helps!
