Once Richard Is Gone...

Once Richard has died, will more of the Carpenters hidden "dirty laundry" come out? Perhaps more people closely associated with the Carpenter family will come out and do interviews for biographies that finally don't have to be approved by Richard?! I am looking forward to finding out more.

I'm wondering if his wife or children would block any of this. I'm sure Richard's made arrangements for all this stuff to remain private even after he's died. It'll never surface! Ever!
Then again, we don't really have a right to know these tings. People have a right to keep what they want private.

That's very well said, Paul Some things should be kept private, as that is their life and memories...not ours! Maybe there isn't any "dirty" laundry to know about, anyway!! We can all kind of piece things together from what IS known, anyway!
Some things I don't feel that I need or want to know about! I respect that privacy!

Yeah, I'm sure more things will come out after his passing (hopefully he'll be around another 50 years!). But, ask yourself if those will be positive things, or negative things, when he isn't here to defend himself. My guess is that there may be unfair negative things that won't necesarilly be accurate. However, the Carpenters have been forgotten for many, during recent times, and it might not be a big deal to the public. I bet that in future centuries people will redescover the Carpenters and they will be heard and studied by future generations, along with Burt B, much as we study classical music of old. They will always be remembered in the most positive of light!
